During this 2-day safari, you will visit the Tarangire and Ngorongoro. On the first day, you will enjoy a guided game drive in Tarangire, which is known for having one of the largest concentrations of elephants in Africa. On the second day, you will descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, a unique caldera that has the highest density of lions in Tanzania and is home to the critically endangered black rhinoceros. The two-day safari provides a glimpse of the famous African Big Five animals.
At 5:00 am, our driver will pick you up from your hotel in Zanzibar and transfer you to Zanzibar Airport where you will take the plane to Arusha Airport. You will meet your safari guide and head to Tarangire National Park’s entrance. The exploration of the park’s unique features, such as elephants, baobab trees, and stunning landscapes, will continue for the rest of the day until around midday when you will break and enjoy a deserving bush lunch. The afternoon session will continue soon after lunch. At around 4:30 pm, you will exit the park and drive to Marera Valley Lodge near Ngorongoro Crater for dinner and an overnight stay.
You will be served an early breakfast at the lodge. Then, you will drive straight to the entrance of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. After completing the entrance formalities, you will descend the Ngorongoro Crater, which is 600 meters deep and covers an area of 250 square kilometers. During your six-hour game drive on the crater floor, your guide will lead you through beautiful landscapes and a high density of animals, including the rare and endangered black rhinoceros. You will have your pack at Lake Ngoitoktok’s picnic site, which offers spectacular views of the hippopotamuses.
In the late afternoon, you will exit the crater and drive to Arusha Airport, where you will bid farewell to your guide and board the plane to Zanzibar Airport. At Zanzibar Airport, a driver will be waiting to take you to your lodge.
